  1. Effect of acupuncture on menstrual irregularities in women with polycystic ovary syndrome: a systematic review and meta-analysis: This meta-analysis, published in BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies in 2019, examined the effects of acupuncture on menstrual irregularities in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The study found that acupuncture significantly improved menstrual frequency and decreased levels of serum testosterone in women with PCOS.
  2. Acupuncture for the regulation of endocrine function in women with polycystic ovary syndrome: systematic review and meta-analysis: Published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2018, this systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of acupuncture in regulating endocrine function in women with PCOS. The findings suggested that acupuncture may be beneficial in improving menstrual frequency and regulating hormone levels in women with PCOS.
  3. Acupuncture for primary dysmenorrhea: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials: This meta-analysis, published in The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2008, analyzed the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. The study concluded that acupuncture was effective in reducing the severity and duration of menstrual pain compared to sham acupuncture or no treatment.
  4. Effects of acupuncture on stress-induced relapse to cocaine-seeking in rats: This preclinical study, published in Psychopharmacology in 2019, investigated the effects of acupuncture on stress-induced relapse to cocaine-seeking behavior in rats. The findings suggested that acupuncture reduced stress-induced reinstatement of cocaine-seeking behavior, indicating its potential as a treatment for stress-related disorders.
  5. The effects of acupuncture on the stress-induced changes of brain-gut axis and 5-HT signal pathway: Published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine in 2014. This study investigated the effects of acupuncture on stress-induced changes in the brain-gut axis and serotonin (5-HT) signaling pathway in rats. The results indicated that acupuncture attenuated stress-induced alterations in the brain-gut axis and modulated 5-HT signaling, suggesting its potential in stress management.
