What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest healing methods known to man.  The theory of Chinese medicine is by placing extremely fine needles into specific points on the body, we restore the free flow of energy, allowing the body to heal itself.

How much does acupuncture cost?

We offer acupuncture services at two price points, one for Standard Acupuncturists and one for Senior Acupuncturists with advanced training and over a decade of experience.

We do not Bulk-bill

* Ancillary treatments such as cupping or gua sha are $75 per session (time allowance 25 minutes).

How much extra does is cost if I get electro- acupuncture, cupping or shockwave as part of an initial or follow-up treatment?

Nothing .  We understand no one likes walking into a an appointment not knowing how much it is going to cost them.  At TLC Acupuncture Brisbane we are determined to give our patients the best service at an affordable price so we do not charge additional fees for these services when the acupuncturist does them as part of an acupuncture treatment.  The practitioner will decide what type of treatment you need for your complaint, discuss this with you and with your approval will treat you accordingly.

Can I request cupping or shockwave as part of my session?

Yes, you can absolutely discuss your preferrance with your practitioner to see if they are right for your condition.  Important to note our fees are based on your time with the pracitioner being 15-20 minutes before the needles are left to sit in place.  Any requests must be completed in that same amount of time.  For patients who know they want a large area shockwaved or cupped and a full acupuncture treatment which can’t be completed in that time frame, please book an extended appointment with our call center staff. Extended appointment charges are the same price as our initial booking fees.

Are there any additional fees?

Our practitioners will always talk to you in advance and ask for your approval if they are offering you something which is at an additional charge to your session,  These include products or treatments requiring the use of more expensive supplies.

Health funds and HICAPS

TLC Acupuncture Brisbane maintains the highest level of care and is registered with ALL the health funds allowing our patients to claim the health fund rebates.

Hicaps is available in all our clinics for instant rebates so you may simply swipe your health fund card and only pay the gap, saving you the time of having to claim the money back from your health insurer.

Health fund members can usually claim around half of this cost back, though it varies depending upon your health fund and level of cover.

Cancellation Policy

We don’t rush treatments and give large time blocks to our patients for your appointments, please respect that time that has been reserved just for you.  We most likely said no to other people who wanted that spot and were happy to come on time.  Cancelling after 5pm the day before your appointment or on the day of your appointment will incur at $50 cancellation fee to cover the practitioner’s time.
