If you have never tried acupuncture and you are wondering does acupuncture work, let us assure you that our practitioners have dedicated their lives to studying and working in this field because they witnessed its ability to treat pain and symptoms of other health conditions.
How acupuncture works is truly fascinating. The question by many Chinese medical experts and scientists was never whether it works as that was evident in the patients reports but rather how it worked. Investigative studies utilizing MRI machines and light microscopes to measure brainwave activity and electrical impulses during acupuncture treatments are helping to unlock many of the mysteries (1).
The basis of Acupuncture is all about correcting the flow of the energy throughout the body so that the body may then heal itself.
Being an Acupuncturist is a lot like being an electrician for the human body. We identify how the energy is flowing to each organ and then manipulate that energy with acupuncture needles with the aim of restoring you to good health. When a symptom such as eczema occurs this means the flow of energy has been disrupted. Some cells, glands and organs will have too much energy and will be over-functioning whilst other areas may not have enough energy and will be under-functioning or not functioning at all. By restoring the balance to ones energy, acupuncture aims to balance the bodies hormones, eliminate these symptoms and stop the progression of disease.
Acupuncture is over 5000 years old, so it is often described in terminology that was used back in those times such as yin and yang. This is just terminology which helps describe different patterns of energy.
Acupuncture is not religious and it does not require you to believe in it for it to work.
